Private fly-in safaris across Africa

Safari Charter Flights Across Africa

Africa's greatest safari experiences begin long before your first game drive.

Reaching Africa's finest safari destinations is not always straightforward. Multiple airline connections, lengthy road transfers and fixed schedules can make the journey feel almost as long as the safari itself. African Air removes that complexity.

We connect travellers directly to luxury lodges, private reserves and remote wilderness areas across Southern and East Africa—planning every flight around your itinerary, not an airline schedule.

The safari begins in the air

Why Fly to Safari by Private Charter?

Spend less time travelling. More time on safari.

The greatest advantage is not simply flying privately. It is making the most of your time in Africa.

Instead of multiple commercial flights and hours on the road, private charter can take you much closer to your lodge—creating a calmer, more personal beginning to your safari.

Experience in action

From International Arrival to Private Safari

When a Swiss family of seven adults and two children travelled to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, African Air coordinated their journey from Cape Town International Airport.

After customs, the family was met and transferred directly to a private departure lounge before boarding their charter. A short while later, they were relaxing on the deck of their private lodge overlooking the Karoo wilderness.

Their holiday began almost as soon as they arrived in South Africa.

Experience in action

A Seamless East African Safari

Working alongside a leading travel agency, African Air coordinated the aviation component of a ten-day luxury journey through Tanzania and Kenya.

From international arrival to transfers between remote safari lodges, every flight was planned as part of one connected itinerary. Our travel partner curated the ground experience while African Air worked behind the scenes as the trusted aviation partner.

Prepare for Your Safari Charter

Your safari begins the moment you leave home. These practical recommendations help you travel comfortably and confidently.

Keep Essentials Close

Passport, medication, cameras, batteries, binoculars and valuables belong in your hand luggage.

Dress for the Journey

Bring a light layer and closed shoes for cool cabins, early departures and bush airstrips.

Pack Soft-Sided Luggage

Duffel bags fit smaller aircraft more easily. Always follow the confirmed luggage allowance.

Keep Your Camera Ready

Mountain ranges, rivers, reserves and wildlife may appear beneath the wing at any moment.

Stay With Your Guide

Many airstrips are unfenced. Follow your lodge representative's instructions on arrival.

Enjoy the View

Safari flying gives you a perspective of Africa that very few travellers experience.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Safari Flight

You do not need to know the aircraft, airstrip or routing. Tell us about the experience you want and we will handle the aviation.

Which safari destinations do you serve?
We provide private safari flights throughout Southern and East Africa, including many of the continent's best-known wildlife regions.
Can we visit more than one safari destination?
Absolutely. We coordinate the flights, routing and logistics for multi-lodge, multi-region and multi-country itineraries.
Which aircraft will we fly?
We recommend the aircraft best suited to your group size, destination, luggage, range and runway requirements.
Can families travel on safari charters?

How far in advance should we book?
The earlier the better, particularly during peak seasons. Short-notice arrangements may also be possible, subject to availability.
