Private hunting aviation across Africa

Focus on the hunt. We’ll manage the journey.

Hunting charter flights built around your safari—not airline schedules.

Firearms, specialised luggage, remote airstrips, multiple destinations and carefully timed itineraries all need to come together. African Air removes that complexity.

The hunter’s advantage

Why Charter for Hunting?

Your safari begins sooner.

A hunting safari often begins long before arriving at camp.

Commercial travel can mean multiple connections, strict baggage restrictions, limited firearm handling, long road transfers and rigid schedules. Private charter removes many of those challenges.

01

Travel with your hunting party

02

Carry firearms and equipment, subject to regulations

03

Fly closer to hunting concessions

04

Reduce time spent travelling

05

Choose flexible departure schedules

06

Build easier multi-country itineraries

Experience in action · The Karoo

Getting Hunters to Camp Without Losing a Day.

Four hunters needed to reach a remote Karoo concession at short notice. African Air coordinated a private charter from Cape Town to Beaufort West, with rifles and ammunition travelling in accordance with required procedures and the outfitter waiting on arrival.

Can I travel with my rifle?

Yes.

Private charter often provides a far simpler experience than scheduled airlines, provided all applicable firearm laws and regulations are followed.

The same person plans your journey and stays with it. For an American agency’s six-client Karoo safari, African Air coordinated the Cape Town–Graaff-Reinet charter, private departure and arrival lounges, compliant rifle handling and the outfitter transfer directly to the concession.

Hunting destinations are rarely near major airports. Where suitable infrastructure exists, private charter creates access far beyond scheduled airline services. Aircraft selection always considers runway conditions, distance, passengers and luggage.

Experience in action · The Kalahari

Keep the Whole Group Together.

Seven hunters. Seven accompanying family members. One coordinated journey.

A group of fourteen travelled from Cape Town to a private Kalahari hunting lodge. African Air coordinated a direct charter to the nearby airstrip. The hunters pursued gemsbuck while non-hunters enjoyed the lodge, pool and wilderness—then everyone reunited each evening.
